The half trodden life symbolizes child labour. Most enslaved people lost half (half face) of their most significant part of life which is childhood (the small foot).They became blind (gorged eye sockets) to the kind of life they should live as free souls and lived to their adulthood (the big foot) without any emancipation from this oppression.
